The book on bibliographical reviews, that is now in your hands, headed by Enrique Ceballos Ramos, is a praiseworthy work which collects 92 books from 76 writers, not only from Colima but from important figures who welcomed this land as their own and had their wok published between the years 2001 and 2005. Another advantage is the diverse disciplinary training of those we review here, in order of appearance: your correspondent, Mirtea Elizabeth Acuña Cepeda, historian; Ángel Luis Gaona Carrasco, odontologist; José Manuel González Freire, philologist; Raymundo Padilla Lozoya, anthropologist, and Jesús Adín Valencia Ramírez, poet and narrator, in order to offer you different styles and forms due to the approach of each of the literary works. Author Biographies

Enrique Ceballos Ramos, University Of Colima

Enrique Ceballos Ramos was born in Cuyutlán, Colima in 1946. He is a public accountant from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and is an independent researcher of the history of Colima, promoter of authors from Colima, member of the Society of Colima on Historical Studies, nonprofit organization (A.C.) and director Tierra de Letras Publishing House.

Ángel Luis Gaona Carrasco

Ángel Luis Gaona Carrasco was born in Tlaxcala, Mexico in 1957. In 2017, his first book of poems was published in the Parota de Sal collection, anthologized in Veintiún poetas de Colima (Twenty-one Poets from Colima); and in 2024, his second book of poems, Resurgencia (Resurgence) was published. He has published narratives and essays in local and foreign journals and supplements.

Jesús Adín Valencia Ramírez, University Of Colima

Jesús Adín Valencia Ramírez was born in Colima, Mexico in 1979. He has a BA in Literature and Journalism and is a columnist as well as a Spanish professor for foreigners and area manager at the Archivo Municipal de Villa de Álvarez (Municipal Archive of Villa de Álvarez). He is the winner of diverse writing contests and also jury and tutor of Programa Estímulo a la Creación y el Desarrollo Artístico (Program of Stimulation in Creativity and Development). He is also the author and coauthor of poetry, tales, essays, anthologies, and articles, among others.

 

Mirtea Elizabeth Acuña Cepeda, University Of Colima

Mirtea Elizabeth Acuña Cepeda was born in Mexico and has a master’s degree in History. She is a full-time research professor at the University of Colima and coordinator of laboratories at the Faculty of Biological and Agricultural Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas y Agropecuarias: FCByA), and a guest professor at other study centers of Mexican and foreign universities. She has published books and articles in scientific journals, as well as in local magazines and newspapers. She has also been awarded diverse local and national acknowledgements and is a member of various nonprofit organizations.

José Manuel González Freire, University Of Colima

José Manuel González Freire was born in Ourense, Spain in 1970 and is a Spanish-Mexican citizen. He has a PhD in Philology and is a tenured full-time research professor at the Faculty of Literature and Communication of the University of Colima. He is also a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII) and has a Prodep profile from the SEP (Secretariat of Public Education). Leader of CA-49: “Rescate del patrimonio cultural y literario.” He has over three hundred publications in various languages and is a member of Sociedad Colimense de Estudios Históricos (Society of Colima for Historical Studies) and of Red de Científicos Españoles en México: RECEMX (Network of Spanish Scientists in Mexico: RECEMX). His lines of research are on: Bio-bibliographical Rescue of Hispanic Artists and Studies of the Variations of the Use of Spanish in the World.

Raymundo Padilla Lozoya, University Of Colima

Raymundo Padilla Lozoya was born in Mexico and has a PhD in Anthropology from Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social: CIESAS (Center for Research and Higher Education in Social Anthropolgy). He is a research professor at the Faculty of Literature and Communication of the University of Colima and a member of SNII (National System of Researchers) and has a Prodep profile. He is a correspondent of the Mexican Academy of History and a member of Red de Desastres Asociados a Fenómenos Hidrometeorológicos y Climáticos (REDESClim) Network for Disasters Associated with Hydrometeorological and Climatic Phenomena as well as a coordinating member of the International Seminar for Historical and Social Studies on Endemics and Epidemics in Latin America. He is honorary member, number 384, of Colegio Mexicano de Profesionales en Gestión de Riesgos y Protección Civil (Mexican Institute of Professionals of Risk Management and Civil Protection) and a representative of Radio Epicentro in Colima. He is also a member of CA13: “Estudios históricos”. He is the author, coauthor, coordinator of books, book chapters, and dissemination and exposure documentaries and articles. His lines of research are on Rescue and Digital Dissemination of the Historical Memory of Communities of Colima and Communication of Disaster Risk with a focus on Comprehensive Management of Disasters.
