This book assembles a series of opinions and comments, digressions, on diverse topics related to Science and its community, emitted by someone who is dedicated to scientific research in the Mexican academic scene. The topics included are not presented in a predetermined order. Nonetheless, in the eyes of the author, they are “naturally” related and complement each other. Among the topics addressed, there are some specific (and varied) ones in relation to scientific knowledge and ideas, others are related to education, the country’s scientific policy, educational management and the relevance of science in a social context. Therefore, you may find opinions on, for example, educational quality, the science and education budget in the country and the observation of neutrinos coming from the center of the sun within a cave that is inside a mountain in Japan.
