El Comentario : 50 Years of university journalism

These pages are a celebration. With them, we commemorate 50 years of satisfactory, continuous, and profitable journalism, supporting the teaching of this noble profession—now a profession—that allows us to exercise one of humanity's fundamental rights: the right to free expression. We also celebrate that for five decades we have been a very important part of the communications work of the University of Colima; we have made and continue to make available to our readers, now our audiences, the rich academic, institutional, athletic, cultural, and outreach work of the state's highest educational institution. Likewise, it is worth noting, we have contributed to the development of local journalism.

In El Comentario, 50 Years of University Journalism, the reading public will find a tribute to the people who have made this project possible: the reporters, editors, designers, press workers, administrative staff, general services staff, management staff, and, above all, the students who have seen in our newspaper a space for professional and personal growth. Their testimonies, captured in these lines, demonstrate the transformative impact of the newspaper not only on their lives, but also on the news landscape in Colima.
